Say Nola to Hola – Incognito Browsing

Oh jeez, I used the wrong subject. This is the cute one I had in mind…

Incognito BrowsingSo try this. Start Chrome in incognito mode. That way when you close the chrome session no session information is saved, or so it’s supposed to go. It also seems to apply to anything a website tries to install into the browser since it’s all supposed to be sandboxed. Go to this site and pick a game:

Don’t let it load anything on your computer. I haven’t tried to install the viewer it wants to loa, as they are often loaded with other adware. Just watch the feed in browser. Sometimes the feed will get hung up or the stream will die and you’ll have to do the whole process all over again.

The bit about using a mandatory profile goes like this. A mandatory profile is one where after you log out any changes made to the user’s settings are not saved. I’ve used this trick to setup PC’s for people that have no control over their recreational browsing habits (elderly, people in early onset of Alzheimer’s or dementia, individuals on the spectrum, and teenagers), guest logins on corporate networks, or a place where you tell your kids to go play with the workplace computer. It’s actually quite easy, just create a user or login that you plan on using for a mandatory profile. Login into it and set it up as you like then restart the computer and log in with another profile. You need to restart to PC instead of just logging out so the OS completely releases all the registry hives. Now go into the users profile directory and rename the ntuser.dat file to ntuser.man. (Of course you will need to change the view settings so you can see hidden system files) That will tell the OS to consider that login a mandatory file.
